VERA stands for Very Easy Reading Appliance. It's an
elegant, stand-alone reading machine for people with low vision who want to
continue reading easily and independently.
VERA can read books, magazines, letters, even
recipes. It will scan the material and use a synthesizer to read it in clear,
crisp speech. You can also view the words on your computer or television.
VERA will read an entire page at a time, word by
word or line by line. Freedom Scientific has created VERA with an attractive
wooden case and large, colorful, single-use keys that control the basic
operation.
VERA automatically saves documents when it's
turned off and has an internal filing system with 10 folders. You can adjust
text size and color when you use a monitor or TV.
