Ergonomics has long been ignored in the
development of vision enhancement devices. Betacom Corporation has created
a new reality. Proper ergonomics are the guiding principle in the design of
our video reading device – the VisAble IMAGE®.
Optimal eye-to-screen distance for
comfort. Studies have shown that the most ergonomic approach for video
screen use positions the screen so that the user looks downwards when
reading. This enables easier, more comfortable focus at close distances.
Only the VisAble IMAGE® positions the screen
viewing area below horizontal eye level, ensuring optimal comfort and
clarity. Others require looking upwards. This increases comfortable reading
time to hours instead of minutes.
Unique auto-scan camera and integrated X-Y
table eliminates neck straining, craning and stretching to read the top of
material.
Text Legibility. The use of pure black
and white (in positive or negative text modes) significantly enhances
legibility and diminishes ghosting versus the shades of gray provided by
analog technology. Vibrant Color-Select capability (standard on all models)
provides un-matched levels of contrast enhancement. Digital
Contrast/Brightness eliminates image fading. Text Stretch improves the
ability to identify/read letters.
Flat panel (LCD) displays vs. CRTs.
Eliminate flicker, electromagnetic radiation. No more eye-strain or
headaches. Increase screen-viewing areas. A 15-inch LCD equals a 17-inch
CRT; a 17-inch LCD equals a 19-inch CRT.
In-Line design. The flat panel screen
is directly in front of the user with a full range of tilt adjustment. This
properly positions the head and neck (upright and centered over shoulders).
Wide range of screen adjustability provides perfect sight lines when
sitting and standing.
